Living Room Tutors

Living Room Tutors is a free online tutoring service aimed to support K-12 students impacted by prolonged school closures and beyond. We take volunteer student tutors and match them to students in need of tutoring.

Living Room Tutors believes in a world where every child can flourish in their academics despite difficult circumstances. Our mission is to first mitigate the impact of prolonged school closures during the COVID-19 pandemic and to then continue to offer our services beyond these difficult times. Building a strong foundation in early childhood education is critical in order to empower the next generation of change-makers. LRT strives to accomplish this by creating educational support through peer tutoring and mentoring. Living Room Tutors offers student-led tutoring in a variety of K-12 subjects such as math, reading, science, literature, foreign language, AP courses, and ACT/SAT prep. Tutoring can also be offered in languages such as Spanish, French, Somali, Arabic, and Chinese to accommodate English learner students. What sets LRT apart from other tutoring organizations is our focus on student-to-student tutoring, our completely virtual format, and our free services.
