Who We Are
High Pointe I and II are the first Volunteers of America projects in Rochester. High Pointe I opened in 2001 and High Pointe II opened in 2004. We provide affordable housing for people 62 years of age and better. We also provide a community of activity and socialization with a variety of opportunities for our residents. High Pointe consists of two buildings that are linked together.
What We Do
The mission of High Pointe is to provide affordable housing for older adults. We want to provide a caring and fun community to these valued citizens. Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit, spiritually based organization providing local human service programs and opportunities for individual and community involvement. Volunteers of America was founded in 1896 by social reformers Ballington and Maud Booth. They envisioned a movement dedicated to "reaching and uplifting" the American people. On behalf of the organization, the Booths pledged to "go wherever we are needed, and do whatever comes to hand." That declaration has guided Volunteers of America's outreach efforts ever since. Volunteers of America serves more than 1.8 million people each year.
