JM students are in need of usable water bottles to stay hydrated.  Due to COVID precautions we are using water bottles instead of the drinking fountain. 

Any water bottles are fine, but we have purchased $1 water bottles from WalMart that work great.

Donations can be brought to JM Main Entrance by the flagpole school days 7:30 - 4:00 and buzz the entrance bell.

Seasons Hospice is in need of volunteers that are licensed Cosmetologists to assist our patients with haircuts. Please complete application on our website www.seasonshospice.org or contact Chris Humble at 507-285-1930 ext. 1201.

St. George Soccer Academy is looking for volunteer to help coach kids soccer. 

Do you like playing soccer with young kids. Do you have time on Friday at 6:00 pm to couch kids age 4 - 17. 

We have a group of kids who enjoy playing soccer and would like to be trained at Watson filed every Friday. 

We have a pile of sand that has been delivered for our playground sandboxes.  The kids have hauled some, but we need more help!  Our need is for the sand to be shoveled into wheelbarrows and moved to the sandboxes.  

Our Companion Volunteers make a difference by providing assistance and friendship to adults who have difficulty with daily living tasks, such as shopping or paying bills. We help these adults remain independent in their homes instead of having to move to more costly institutional care. Companions give families or professional caregivers a much needed time off from their duties, run errands, and often provide friendship for their clients.

***NEW-- You can now serve as little as one client a week! That's only 3 hours of your time a week, that makes all the difference in the world for our clients! Or if your looking to volunteer more, you can serve up to 5 clients a week!  

All of our volunteers receive a small stipend and mileage reimbursement for their time and dedication to our programs! 

The History Center of Olmsted County is looking for volunteers to help with a variety of events for this summer. Jobs and times vary, but we will work hard to ensure that we are pairing people up with a job and a time that works well for them! You can help make a difference in the life of a senior in need! Family Service Rochester is a non-profit organization providing seniors with assistance such as transportation, friendly visits, light housekeeping, yard work and repairs by connecting volunteers with those that need help.

Volunteers set their own schedule and decide what days and how many hours they can help.

Application Process

We ask volunteers to complete a 3-step application process that includes a background check, watching a short orientation video, and signing a confidentiality/privacy policy statement. Once these three steps are complete you are ready to be matched and to start volunteering!

We are seeking individuals with a valid drivers license and current insurance who are willing, on a volunteer basis without remuneration, to deliver hot meals to the homes of people who qualify for our service on the basis of income, age, disability or need. Regular and substitute drivers are needed.

Step Up to SIT is seeking high-school students and other community volunteers willing to babysit for healthcare and other essential workers in need of childcare! Matching individual volunteers to babysit one single family limits transmission and allows our essential workers to continue to do their jobs.

Volunteers OR parents seeking childcare may use the sign up form to provide contact information, schedule availability, general location, COVID health risks, references, etc. One question asks if the person babysitting is willing to volunteer their time to lessen a family’s financial strain. If they respond yes, they are matched with a family needing a volunteer. We also have a live google form if people would like to submit their volunteer hours for recognition/confirmation of volunteer work!

LRT is looking to recruit students K-12 students that want to volunteer their time as an online tutor. Based on your liabilities and preferences, we will match you to a fitting tutee. With the COVID-19 pandemic causing prolonged school closures, many students are experiencing disruptions in their academic trajectories. LRT is hoping to mitigate some of those negative repercussions by connecting volunteer student tutors to students in need of tutoring.

Our Foster Grandparent Volunteers serve at a variety of locations throughout the region. The volunteers go to these sites and are role models, mentors, and friends to children with exceptional needs. The program provides a way for volunteers age 55 and over to stay active by serving children and youth in their communities.

Requirements: Volunteers have to be willing to serve at least 10 hours per week (schedules are flexible-- you set the hours that work best for you) and are 55+ years old. Our volunteer undergo background checks and we provide any training required. In return for your time and commitment, you will receive a small stipend, mileage reimbursement, ongoing training, and recognition.

Training is provided.  Shifts are available Monday - Friday 10am - 1pm or 1pm - 5pm.
