Volunteer: AmeriCorps Groundwork Fellow - Cradle2Career

This is an exciting opportunity for someone committed to making a lasting impact on communities by addressing education-related challenges. As a Groundwork Fellow, you will maintain and strengthen the network of organizations that support young people in Minnesota. 

Groundwork Fellows serve in nonprofit organizations and government agencies in Minnesota. Our partner organizations are diverse, but no matter where you serve, you'll be working shoulder to shoulder with other people who share your commitment to young people. 

The nature of the work you do will depend on your talents and interests and the needs of the organization you serve. Groundwork Fellows work on projects that build the capacity of youth serving organizations addressing educational barriers through efforts that engage youth as agents of change. 


Minimum Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older by the time of program start date

Must have at least a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational qualification

Must be either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National or Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States

Must not have served four or more prior terms of service AmeriCorps State and National

Must be able to pass National Service Criminal Service History Background check (including National Sex Offender Registry, State of service and State of residence, and FBI checks) - eligibility requirements listed here


You earn:

AmeriCorps Living Stipend (pre-tax): Full-time (40hrs/week) members receive $1236 twice per month

AmeriCorps Education Award: Members will receive $5176.50 upon successful completion of service. The education award can be used toward federally qualifying student loans (federal student financial aid loans, not including ParentPlus loans) or future qualified post-secondary education

 Benefits: 

Health care, if applicable - monthly premium 100% covered

Child care assistance available - based on family size and income 

Student loan forbearance for eligible loans (payment pause) 

Ongoing professional development trainings and cohort support 

AmeriCoach career coaching opportunity

Schools of National Service: 

Several Minnesota colleges and universities offer scholarships, application fee waivers, and other benefits for AmeriCorps alums!
