Newcomer students face these challenges and more as they navigate an unfamiliar school system. The Match Program at IMAA supports multi-language learner (MLL) students in Rochester Public Schools by placing volunteers in Newcomer K-12 classrooms. Students need support with basic English and other academic help. No second language required; compassion, patience, and time are all that is needed. Most volunteers spend 1-2 hours a week at sites.
