Hear Ye Hear Ye, National Donut Day is coming!
Come and join us celebrate National Donut Day and hand out coffee and donuts to our friends in our community!
National Donut Day started in 1938 as a fund raiser for Chicago's The Salvation Army. Their goal was to help those in need during the Great Depression, and to honor The Salvation Army "Lassies" of World War I, who served doughnuts to soldiers.
We will be handing out coffee and donuts at the VFW and Soldiers Field. We need volunteers for each of the following shifts: at VFW 2 volunters for 7am-8am, 1 volunteer for 8am-9am, 2 volunteers for 10am-11am At Soldiers Field we need 1 more volunteer from 7am-8am, and we need volunteers each for the following shifts:1-volunteer for 8am-9am, 1-volunteer for 10am-11am. We also need volunteer drivers to deliver donuts local businesses in the community.
