Help customers shopping on the sales floor, process donations in the back room, assist our truck driver in picking up donations, or spend time as a cashier! The ReStore has so many ways that people can get involved in volunteering with Habitat for Humanity no matter their skill set or ability. All training is provided. 

When are you available to volunteer?
Volunteer shifts are flexible, and you can set up a regular schedule or sign-up as you're able. The following times are when volunteers help the ReStore "the store that builds homes"!

The Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity ReStore collects donations that will provide much needed funding for building and repairing homes in our communities. Affordable housing is something that is out of reach for over 12,000 Rochester Area Residents. 

Together, we can help build a world where everyone has a decent place to live!

Habitat homes are constructed in part by volunteer labor and skilled contractors. Share the skills you already have, or learn new skills. Enjoy the physical labor and know you are helping a family in need.

The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge Rochester provides free, home-like accommodations for cancer patients who have to travel for treatment.  There are several ways volunteers can help with daily Hope Lodge operations such as preparing a dinner, providing entertainment, planning special events and activities, and improving the facility and grounds.

Be BOLD! We are looking for some special people who care about this community's young people and want to make a difference in a young life. As a Bolder Options mentor you will introduce your mentee to healthy lifestyle activities as well as exciting adventures and experiences including hiking, fishing, painting, orchards and so much  more! If you like sports, running, biking, hiking, geo-caching or just enjoy being active, you will make a great mentor! Mentors spend 2-4 hours a week in a mix of one on one activities with their youth and group events put on by Bolder Options staff. You will not be doing it alone - our staff will guide you through a curriculum addressing all of these areas and you will have all the support and tools you need to be successful. At the end of your year together, you will attend a graduation ceremony in which all of your achievements will be celebrated! Mentoring is one of the most effective ways to give back, and we promise you will get more out of it than you will put in!  

The Volunteer Attorney Program (VAP) is where private attorneys agree to take cases for full-representation or, on a Limited Scope basis, for clients who have been screened through the Legal Assistance of Olmsted County (LAOC) intake process and need representation in a matter that is not an area of LAOC expertise; where there is a conflict of interest with LAOC and the client; or when LAOC attorneys are not able to take on additional cases and the client needs immediate assistance.

Legal Assistance of Olmsted County (LAOC) sponsors a landlord tenant hotline for anyone in the community who has a question about the rights and responsibilities of rental property.

LAOC is looking for volunteers to staff the hotline.  Volunteers are trained by LAOC and staff the hotline for a week at a time.  Generally volunteers spend anywhere between 1 and 3 hours a week returning calls.

Do you like to cook or bake? Do you have a passion for making sure people don't leave hungry?

 Plan a meal and bring it to our volunteers working at the various project sites. We have volunteers of all ages that want to participate and support Habitat for Humanity, but their passion lies in food. 

We would love to coordinate with you to either purchase a meal on your behalf for the crews or to bring your sweet (or savory) treats as a fun element of the day.

Our Life Enrichment Program gives our individuals served a much needed socialization and integration avenue at ABC. Life Enrichment is a recreation and leisure program where individuals served and staff do a number of activities like coloring, signing, dancing, playing games, but also go on day trips to places like the Mall of America, Oxbow Park, and Bowlocity. 

We are looking for long-term volunteers that can help assist our Life Enrichment Program in helping with those previously mentioned activities. 

Must be 18 years or older. All volunteers are subject to a background check and will require two hours of training before they can begin volunteering.

Whether it’s providing companionship to a person in the final months or weeks of life, offering support to family members and caregivers, providing assistance in the office or helping with community outreach, the contributions of volunteers are an essential part of Interim HealthCare's Hospice Program.

Hospice volunteers are at the heart of our goal. Serving people at the end of life’s journey allows hospice volunteers in Olmsted County to make a difference to someone in need every day.

Being a hospice volunteer, is an intensely rewarding experience. Once you complete the required pre-training interview and orientation, you'll be ready. Studies of student absences, summer learning loss, and prolonged school closures suggest that losing time in school sets students back academically. Living Room Tutors is here to alleviate some of those negative ramifications of being away from the classroom.

St. George Soccer Academy is looking for volunteer to help coach kids soccer. 

Do you like playing soccer with young kids. Do you have time on Friday at 6:00 pm to couch kids age 4 - 17. 

We have a group of kids who enjoy playing soccer and would like to be trained at Watson filed every Friday. 

We have a pile of sand that has been delivered for our playground sandboxes.  The kids have hauled some, but we need more help!  Our need is for the sand to be shoveled into wheelbarrows and moved to the sandboxes.  

Our Companion Volunteers make a difference by providing assistance and friendship to adults who have difficulty with daily living tasks, such as shopping or paying bills. We help these adults remain independent in their homes instead of having to move to more costly institutional care. Companions give families or professional caregivers a much needed time off from their duties, run errands, and often provide friendship for their clients.

***NEW-- You can now serve as little as one client a week! That's only 3 hours of your time a week, that makes all the difference in the world for our clients! Or if your looking to volunteer more, you can serve up to 5 clients a week!  

All of our volunteers receive a small stipend and mileage reimbursement for their time and dedication to our programs!

Step Up to SIT is seeking high-school students and other community volunteers willing to babysit for healthcare and other essential workers in need of childcare! Matching individual volunteers to babysit one single family limits transmission and allows our essential workers to continue to do their jobs.

LRT is looking to recruit students K-12 students that want to volunteer their time as an online tutor. Based on your liabilities and preferences, we will match you to a fitting tutee. With the COVID-19 pandemic causing prolonged school closures, many students are experiencing disruptions in their academic trajectories. LRT is hoping to mitigate some of those negative repercussions by connecting volunteer student tutors to students in need of tutoring.
