With just a bit of online research and your enthusiasm, you can help neighbors easily find volunteer opportunity platforms, service clubs, mutual aid groups, and more—making it simpler than ever for everyone to make an impact locally.

The family mailbox stuffers are a great way to directly impact families as an individual, family, or group activity done in the comforts of your own space and on your own time. We are asking for 70 mailbox stuffers at this time.

This is a great way to help families feel supported, connected, and provide a bit of cheer and a smile. These "daybrighteners" can be as simple or complex as you would like to make them - the options are endless! Options include a simple note of encouragement, support, or day-brightening message, a $5 gift card to local coffee shops or restaurants, or small gifts like bubbles, books, or chalk. We greatly appreciate all efforts given to help make the day a little bit brighter for our families.

Listos Preschool and Childcare is a bilingual (Spanish-English) non-profit program serving children ages 3-5 and their families. The Listos Board of Directors governs the overall execution of the organization’s mission. The Board manages organizational finances, sets long-term priorities and oversees the Executive Director, who is responsible for day-to-day management.  
 
Board Member responsibilities include attendance at 9 meetings per year, held at 7 PM the second Monday of the month via Zoom. Plus committee work as needed. Terms are for three years. For more information and to apply, click Listos Board application

At A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation (ABOH), based in Wayzata, Minnesota, our mission is to defeat lung cancer by funding groundbreaking research, awareness initiatives, education, and patient support. We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Mayo Clinic to extend our vital patient services to the Rochester,Minnesota area, bringing compassionate support to lung cancer patients and families in need.

We invite individuals who have personally experienced a cancer diagnosis to become ABOH Peer-to-Peer Companions. If you’ve navigated the challenges of cancer and want to help others facing a similar journey, this role is for you. As a Peer-to-Peer Companion, you will provide invaluable emotional support to patients and caregivers through texts, phone calls, and both virtual and in-person meetings.

What You'll Do:
- Offer a listening ear and empathetic support to patients and caregivers.
- Share hope and understanding, drawing from your own experience with cancer.
- Help ease the emotional and psychological burdens of a lung cancer diagnosis.
- Provide comfort and encouragement during this challenging time.

Lung cancer can be a physically, mentally, and emotionally draining experience, compounded by the stigma often associated with the disease. Our Peer-to-Peer Companions play a crucial role in alleviating some of these burdens, offering compassion and reassurance to those who need it most. By connecting with someone who understands their struggles, patients can find solace and strength to face their journey with greater hope.

Your involvement directly supports our mission to improve lung cancer patient quality of life and advance our fight against lung cancer. TRRJ is seeking passionate volunteers to help us expand our impact. We are currently looking to fill roles on our Finance Committee and looking for those with technology skills relating to website, software for case management, and/or social media management. If you have skills in these areas and a desire to contribute to restorative and racial justice, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for a bookkeeper who has non-profit experience to assist with our annual financial review and 990 filing. We operate on a budget of less than $75,000 and we use QuickBooks to track all expenses and revenues.

Project Get Outdoors (Project GO) is seeking one or two volunteers with graphic design and social media experience to help update our website and social media pages (Facebook and Instagram).  This opportunity allows volunteers to work from the comfort of their own home, on their own time and to enhance their resume and portfolio.

Anyone who can help with content twice weekly on our facebook and instagram page. This will be for Monday and Friday. 30 minutes for each day. 

When you give your time as a volunteer with St. Croix Hospice, you join a team of individuals dedicated to providing patient-centered care and comfort during advanced-stage illnesses. Hospice volunteers offer companionship, compassionate help and support for patients and their loved ones when they need it most. Volunteers provide an empathic, respectful, and caring presence for patients and their loved ones.

The St. Croix Hospice team provides exceptional hospice care with an emphasis on quality of life. Our holistic care model offers physical, emotional, and spiritual support uniquely tailored to a patient’s individual needs and wishes. When you join our team as a volunteer, you’re making a difference in the lives of individuals and families right in your own community.

Our virtual volunteers provide support to hospice patients virtually via computer and/or phone by checking on their supply, medication and equipment needs, and provide companionship by visiting with the patient and their loved ones creating a lasting bond. Tuck-In Volunteers will help with anticipating patient, family and caregiver needs and filling requests to set them up with what they need for the best quality of life.

Communities across the nation have been experiencing school shutdowns due to COVID-19. Studies of student absences, summer learning loss, and prolonged school closures suggest that losing time in school sets students back academically. Living Room Tutors is here to alleviate some of those negative ramifications of being away from the classroom. 

You can get help by becoming a volunteer tutor. Sign up and you will be joining a group of student change-makers making a significant impact on their communities. This form allows us to learn more about prospective Tutors and Tutees. Here, we learn what subject areas Tutees need support in and what subject areas tutors are comfortable helping in.

Once signed up, LRT will match you with an appropriate tutee and alert you through an email when your match is made. 

Our Companion Volunteers make a difference by providing assistance and friendship to adults who have difficulty with daily living tasks, such as shopping or paying bills. We help these adults remain independent in their homes instead of having to move to more costly institutional care. Companions give families or professional caregivers a much needed time off from their duties, run errands, and often provide friendship for their clients.

All of our volunteers receive a small stipend and mileage reimbursement for their time and dedication to our programs! 

LRT is looking to recruit students K-12 students that want to volunteer their time as an online tutor. Based on your liabilities and preferences, we will match you to a fitting tutee. With the COVID-19 pandemic causing prolonged school closures, many students are experiencing disruptions in their academic trajectories. LRT is hoping to mitigate some of those negative repercussions by connecting volunteer student tutors to students in need of tutoring.
