Who We Are
Our Mission: Three Rivers Restorative Justice brings together those who have been harmed, those who have caused harm, and community and family members to establish spaces for dialogue and transformative resolutions.
As of 2024, we have signed referral agreements with four Justice system partners, and trained 24 community members as facilitators. This has resulted in 100 cases being referred to us involving youth and adults. We are a program of Olmsted Outreach.
What We Do
TRRJ oversees dialogue-based processes which initially involve separate listening and preparatory sessions with youth responsible for a crime and those victimized by a crime incident. Cases are initially referred to TRRJ by any number of justice agencies. Two trained facilitators, with the support of a Program Manager, coordinate communications and scheduling, and then guide meetings with the aim to support and empower parties who later choose to meet jointly in a
"restorative conference". Parents and support people are invited to all meetings. Restorative conferences allow all involved to share their experiences, identify harms, and mutually determine reparation agreements to make things right again. TRRJ then tracks the progress and completion of these agreements, notifying the referral agency when the case is ready to close.
