Who We Are

The Senior LinkAge Line is a statewide information and assistance telephone service which helps older people and their families make informed decisions. The Senior LinkAge Line (SLL) is Minnesota's State Health Insurance Counseling Program (SHIP) which assists persons on Medicare with claims, applying for savings programs, choosing a supplement or health plan, including Part D for prescription drug coverage. SLL also provides long term care options counseling for people considering bringing services into the home or moving to registered housing with services settings.

What We Do

The agency strives to promote independence and dignity of older people in the region by coordinating, funding and developing programs and services. We link people with information, advocate for the needs of older people, build community capacity through development, partnerships, grants and contracts, and promote prudent stewardship of the federal, state and local resources we receive.

SEMAAA is the designated area agency on aging for the 11-county region of southeastern Minnesota, and was established in 1976 by the Minnesota Board on Aging. We receive Older Americans Act funds and state funds that are awarded to local service providers for community based programs for older people. It is a 501-C3 non-profit.
