What We Do
Opened in 1989, VonWald Youth Shelter provides a safe place for youth experiencing crisis. VonWald Youth Shelter is a 12-bed facility which offers emergency housing, short-term, and long-term stays for youth ages 12-17 (18-19 in certain cases).
We welcome youth from all backgrounds and circumstances. Serving youth experiencing family conflict or domestic violence, behavioral concerns, school difficulties, involvement in the juvenile justice system, waiting for foster care placements, respite, homelessness, sexual exploitation, waiting for treatment or assessments, and more.
Accepting self-referrals, county, court, and law enforcement placements.
