VIRTUAL INTERVIEW PANEL
Join our 2020 Varsity Letter in Community Service recipients on January 5 from 5-6 pm on Instagram Live (@uwolmsted). During our interview panel, we will hold space to honor the students' dedication to community service, learn about their volunteer experiences, and debunk myths such as “Teens Aren’t Interested in Volunteering”. Thank you to Alyssa Jones, Bryttin Henderson, and Hunter Olson for inspiring hope, creating opportunity, and improving people’s lives in our community!
ABOUT VARSITY LETTER IN COMMUNITY SERVICE
United Way of Olmsted County recognizes and rewards students for their volunteer efforts in the community. By participating in the Varsity Letter in Community Service Program, high school students who volunteer 100 or more hours in one year can earn a school varsity letter (the same as those earned in academics, arts, athletics, etc). With 52 weeks in a year, that is equivalent to about 2 hours per week.
In the words of Mayo High School senior Rioghna Pittock, “Even though I am young, there is always an opportunity to somehow help the people in my community!” By volunteering, not only are you helping to make our community stronger, you will also receive a lifetime of personal enrichment in return.
