A Walk Audit is a fun, interactive way to assess the pedestrian experience in our neighborhoods. By walking together, we can identify potential improvements to sidewalks, crosswalks, lighting, and traffic flow, while checking the pedestrian-friendliness and walkability of our neighborhoods. Join us and influence a positive change, connect with your neighbors, enjoy fresh air & exercise, and raise awareness!
After a brief kick-off at 10:00am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, you will join a small group of volunteers. For the next hour or so, you and your group will be observing and evaluating the walkability along a pre-determined route. A team leader will guide your observations using a set of walk audit worksheets, which will also be used to document your team’s evaluations and comments along with appropriate photos.
All of Rochester is invited!
It's okay if you are not a resident of the Slatterly Park Neighborhood, this is an opportunity to study how the city can build for the best walking experience. And, you will learn how a walk audit works so you can bring one to your neighborhood!
So, if you live in the neighborhood and want to share your experience concerned with pedestrian safety and walkability with the city; if you want to learn how we can build neighborhoods to provide for great, safe walking experiences; or, if you want to learn more about walk audits and bring one to your part of the city...
