Do you know how to get that small repair, to-do list done around the house?
And are you looking for a way to help others in a flexible way that fits your schedule?
Family Service Rochester is actively seeking volunteers with the necessary skills and experience to help seniors and those with disabilities!
As a handy worker volunteer, you will help make minor repairs and safety corrections to the homes of older adults and those with disabilities. Typical projects include:
- Repair or replacement of broken items (doors, windows, light fixtures)
- Accessibility improvements (hand railings, grab bars, ramps)
- Correction of safety hazards (repairs to porches, steps, sidewalks)
- Habitability improvements (replacement of sinks, toilets, floor tiles)
- Painting (interior and exterior)
- Cleaning gutters
- Washing windows
- And more!
You do not need to be able to do all of these types of projects. Your ability to do ANY of these tasks would be a huge help to a senior in your community.
Supplies will be provided by the consumer, and volunteers only need to bring their tools.
