Description

Have you ever thought about the challenges older adults may face to maintain and remain in their homes?

Family Service Rochester’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors program supports older adults, helping them remain safe and independent in their homes. The program utilizes volunteers to assist senior homeowners with home maintenance projects they might not be able to complete on their own.

Typical tasks include:

  • Replacing lightbulbs or doorknobs
  • Hanging pictures or curtain rods
  • Doing yard work or small repairs
  • Packing or unpacking boxes
  • Washing windows or cleaning gutters
  • And much more!

There is no minimum volunteer time commitment. Help once a year or help once a day!
